Writing Worlds for You to Get Lost In.
My name is Diego Tovar (He/Him/His), and I'm from Austin, Texas. I graduated from Colorado State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability with a minor in Political Communication. I was a National Udall Scholar class of 2021. I received my master's in Global Environmental Policy from American University and now work for the Rachel Carson Council.
I'm a self-published writer of The Ascendants, The Ascendants: Empire of Ruin, The Red Siege, Tell it to the Tombs, The Man on the Ring trilogy, and The Wrath that Waits. In addition, my environmental opinion pieces have been published in sources such as The Washington Post, Austin American-Statesman, Maryland Matters, and The Nevadan. As someone who is passionate about combining fiction with environmentalism, my experiences in the White House, Indigenous government, Congress, the EPA, and Environmental NGO spaces have helped shape a foundation of environmentalism centered on justice. On the non-work side, my hobbies include hiking, playing basketball, and nature photography!
